Becoming academically literate in another language takes time and specific support. EAL support at AISB is designed to be fluid and flexible to meet the changing needs of each learner as they progress in their language proficiency.

EAL ClassesStudents in the earlier stages of English language development receive small-group language instruction in EAL classes with the EAL Specialist teacher.

In-Class SupportEAL Specialist teachers work together with classroom teachers within homeroom classes to support students in their regular class work.

Language LabThe Grade 2 Language Lab is a resource for all students to work on developing their Academic Language through hands-on language-based activities related to the curriculum content. It is also a resource for parents and teachers looking for information regarding language development and bilingualism.
