- Punctuation: Pausing and changing intonation to match punctuation.
- Emphasizing important words: Important words are a bit louder than the rest and may have pauses around them to highlight them.
- Phrasing: Groups of words (phrases) are chunked together so it sounds natural and clear.
- Volume: Appropriate volume for audience to hear clearly. Changing volume to suit the mood.
- Pace: Reading at a ‘just right’ speed.
- Reading smoothly: Reading is smooth and fluid without inappropriate pauses or rereading words.
- Expression/Tone of Voice: Changing voice and tone to suit the mood or content of the text.
- Body Language: Using body language appropriately and effectively to enhance the audience’s understanding and experience.
They did a great job working together and giving each other constructive feedback throughout the process, developing their own rubric, and self-assessing afterwards.
